It's been almost a semester and a half (and one Brainstorm :-) ) since I joined FFI... and so far we've had a revamp of its structure, some new plans...and many wonderful moments to cherish too.. and I can confidently say that... never has work been so much fun. I look forward to every Sunday morning now, to go by that long kuccha road by the Petro Dept, all the way to the basti to take a Sanrachana class... not to teach students... but to learn with friends... and in spite of all the other commitments we have, we always end up staying back and taking class for an extra hour or two.
While there is always a sense of pride and responsibility in imparting social service to the lesser privileged, there can be no greater satisfaction than that of knowing you have given a new life to someone by educating them and giving away all you know, freely and without prejudice. And doing this through FFI has been especially memorable because our greatest strength is.... our TEAM. We've had our highs and lows - having been criticized, appreciated and even ignored, but the point is...we enjoyed our work... and we enjoyed it together. And this is even more apparent after the rollercoaster ride we had this semester...
This blog in a way is a tribute to the work we do, by putting down in words all those memories, both the good and the bad ones... before they're washed away by time... and because this is all about us and ours is a story worth telling...
